If you haven’t been, I can think of too many reasons why you should go!  Let’s see, great coffee, great pastries, great ice cream, great sandwiches, and the friendliest staff EVER, are just a few that come to mind.  Tonight I was lucky enough to not only stop by for some yummy goodness, but also go to hang out with it’s owner, Rahel, and her super fun and incredibly beautiful daughter.  We all took a stroll across the street to Grant Park, and took advantage of this perfect Fall evening, and the sweet lighting that was going on as the sun went down.  We’d been talking about doing this for what seems like forever.  I’m so glad we finally had a chance to get together, it was such a fun evening!  Here’s a peek at some of the cuteness I got to hang out with tonight.

Anique just turned 5!  In her family, that means it’s your turn to put on “the” beautiful white dress, have your portrait done, and then added to the very special wall at Grandma’s house!  For those of you who have worked with me, you know that “sitting” for a portrait is not my forte’, and I don’t even pretend to be good at it!  But SOMEHOW, we managed to make Grandma happy by keeping with the tradition, AND getting some gorgeous smiles (and lots of giggles too) from Anique.  Maybe it was the beautiful weather we had that day, or maybe it was how the combination of the trees and her fancy dress made her look like a little woodland fairy.  It might even have had something to do with our talk of her plans to get her first puppy someday – a pink polka dot, yellow tailed, blue-footed poodle!!!  Whatever it was, the important thing is that we all had a lot of fun doing it.  I look forward to seeing that same dress again, two years from now, when her little sister turns 5.

Welcome Alice (gray) and Cooper (white/tan/gray) to our family! They are 2 baby siberian dwarf hamsters who have come to live with us for the next 2-3 years (that’s their life span – in ANY household!). They are making the kids VERY happy, and Kenny is slowly but surly coming around : )

First let me say, “congratulations” to mom and dad on bringing this sweet beautiful girl into the world!  As always, we had so much fun with this shoot, and thanks to mom and dad for letting me get a little “creative” with the book case : )  Ahhh Kendal…..this little beauty is gonna break a lot of hearts.  In fact, from what I saw, she’s already got her first man wrapped around her tiny little finger…. doesn’t she dad?

Yeah!!  Finally, if you can believe it or not, after a year and a half of doing this, I got my first “girlie” infant session!  I can’t even tell you how excited I was to dig out all my girlie hats and props, in fact……you can see for yourself below!  Congratulations to Rob and Suzanne on their sweet baby girl, and thank you so much for sharing her with me – and for letting me go nuts with the props! : )

Can you say QT Pies!!!

How lucky can one photographer get?  I am constantly blessed with all these beautiful little faces to photograph, and boy do they make me look good!  Seriously, I don’t think I could have gotten a bad photograph of either of these two little heart breakers!  As always, we had so much fun that even the threat of rain couldn’t spoil our evening, and thanks to the clouds providing me with a natural diffuser, I had both hands free to shoot away!  Once again, much thanks to all of the families who share their little ones with me, I am so blessed!

It’s that time of the year again…..not too hot, not to cold…..in fact, it was just right the other night when I got to take a walk through the park with this awesome family!  A leisurely stroll, a few great stories from dad, kicking the soccer ball around (for the first time!), these are just a few of the reasons I love my job!  And I’m so thankful for families like this one, who create their memories with me.
