Archive for August, 2009

Congratulations Anna!  Anna was the winner of the portrait package raffled off at the St. Thomas the Apostle Kermesse/Summerfest, which is St. Thomas’ yearly fundraiser.  The Summerfest was held at Jim Miller Park on Sunday, August 9, 2009, filled with Latin American food, games, slides, music, dancing, and a raffle.  Fun was had by everyone, but the best news was that the festivities raised approximately $53,000 for the church!  Here are a couple of sneak peeks for Anna and her beautiful family from our photo session this past Sunday.

This shoot was originally scheduled for my favorite venue, Piedmont Park.  However, due to the Paul McCartney concert that was being held there (which was phenomenal by the way), all the streets were being blocked off and we weren’t even sure how we’d get there!  Rather than reschedule the shoot, we decided to try something else.  So off to John Howell Park we went.  It was my first time shooting there so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but guess what?  Well, see for yourself!  Thank you to the Ladds for letting me photograph your lovely family – it was a real pleasure.  Here are a couple of sneak peeks for you – I hope you enjoy!

Ahoy Matees!  Ella and Julian were invited to a “Pirate Play Date” last weekend and of course I couldn’t resist capturing one of them in their pirate attire.  It was so much fun, there was a treasure hunt, jewelry making, tattoos (Ella was all over that one!) and a real pirate ship for the kids to play on.  Ella borrowed some pirate gear from one of her mates (thanks Bryce!), completed the look with a few of her own stylish accessories and some color coordinating, grabbed her sword and we set sail! For those of you who know Ella, I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that our little lassie made one heck of a captain!  The whole family had a great time, and Ella wore her bandana and brandished her sword for the following week.

P.S.  We were all calling Julian “Mr. Schmee”!

One Big Happy Family

Here are a couple of my favorites from the session I did last Sunday – the biggest group I’ve done yet.  This family was SO much fun!  We took a nice long walk around the park, did a lot of  laughing (they were really funny!) and had a really great time capturing the evening.  I thoroughly enjoyed being part of their circle for the few hours we spent together, and it was a joy to watch them interact with each other – one big happy family!
